Childhood Lanscapes

Meditation is a central tool in my work, as well as in my life. The paintings in this exhibition were created through and during meditation, stemming from the perspective of viewing the act of painting as a meditative practice—a possibility for connecting to the subconscious and the universe.

The images I chose as material for the work are childhood landscape pictures from the settlement where I grew up. Thus, I lean on the existing, on my past, and transform it into mine through the meditative painting process.
